Irritator challengeri was a dinosaur that was related to the Spinosaurus. It could grow as long as 30 feet. It was a carnivore with a face like a pterosaur; it had a prominent crest on it's head and jagged teeth. It lived in the early Cretaceous and was located in South America. It got it's name from the fossils that had to require so much plaster that the scientists found it irritating.

Irritator was first discovered as a partly-crushed skull in 1996 in Brazil. Because no skeleton of Irritator has been found to date, little is known about its biology and behaviour. Like other spinosaurids, it probably mainly ate fish as welll as land prey and carrion. It is assumed that like Spinosaurus, Irritator had a sail on its back, although perhaps not as big. Some scientists think it is the same species as Angaturama.
