Torvosaurus (Galton & Jensen, 1979) was a megalosaurid theropod from the late Jurassic Morrison Formation of 145 million years ago. It was the largest known Jurassic theropod, based on a recent fossil from Portugal, surpassing both Allosaurus and Saurophaganax.
